A visit to a phlebologist will help answer your questions, and he/she can evaluate your conditions, determine what testing is appropriate, and discuss the treatment options available.
Diagnosis
In order to distinguish what, if any, vein problems you may have and exactly what the cause of the problem may be - we recommend the following procedures.
Physical Exam
Many times a complete physical exam will be sufficient to diagnose whether your veins are in need of more involved treatment.
Duplex Ultrasound
This is a test to see how blood flows through your arteries and veins. The test combines traditional ultrasound with Doppler ultrasonography. Regular ultrasound uses sound waves that bounce off blood vessels and create pictures. Doppler looks at how sound waves reflect off moving objects, such as blood.
